The Carnival Queen of Concordia, Agustina Barrio, has been carrying out intense promotional activity for our festival at various events and cities throughout the country. A few days before the start of the 2019 edition parades, she takes stock and points out that "when I assumed my reign, I set out to represent not only the Carnival but also to promote tourism in my city" and assures that "we held Concordia and our festival in high regard."
With the smile that characterizes her, Agustina agrees to make a quick assessment of her reign of the greatest summer festival in Concordia. In recent months, her activity increased and she participated in various promotions at a local and national level, telling and making known how the city experiences the Carnival, why it is the most passionate in the country, and also the diverse attractions that Concordia has.
"Upon assuming my reign, one of my objectives was not only to represent the Carnival but also to promote tourism in my city," she says. And she adds: "I believe it was one of the goals I managed to fulfill as sovereign of the most passionate festival in Concordia." At the hot springs, at different events in the city, at provincial and national festivals, at the Casa de Entre Ríos, at the International Tourism Fair, at the 20th Dino Hugo Tinelli Marathon in Bolívar, were some of the opportunities in which she could be seen enjoying samba and encouraging those who do not know the city to come to Concordia this summer.
It is precisely that passion, that enjoyment of everything that the Carnival means, that attracts the attention of those who have never come, that motivates those who have already been in previous editions to return, and that moves hundreds, thousands of Concordia families, to fill the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" Corsódromo every night of the parade in January and February.
As Carnival Queen of Concordia, Agustina Barrio traveled many kilometers in recent months, gave dozens of interviews to media outlets across the country, and was present at many events, in promotional actions promoted by the Carnival Entity, the Secretariat of Tourism, and Emcontur, within the framework of the cultural and tourism development policies carried out by the administration of mayor Enrique Cresto, coordinating between the public and private sectors.
She recalls, among others, the presence at the National Pumpkin Festival, in Ceres, Santa Fe, at the "Dino Hugo Tinelli" Marathon in Bolívar, the various promotions carried out at the Casa de Entre Ríos in Buenos Aires, and also at the recent National Citriculture Festival in our city. The Carnival was present, was showcased, and won support.
"I believe I represented the emperadores, the imperiales, the multicolores, and the tricolores well, in the best way at all the events and promotions I attended," she says. And indeed it was so. She was the Queen of the entire Carnival and the excellent relationship she has with all the artists and members of all the comparsas confirms it.
During the promotions "we held our festival, the carnival, in high regard," assures Agustina. "Many people were surprised by the passionate show we provided in the presentations and approached to ask about dates, prices, places where they could access information to come and experience the festival," and she highlights "the dedication of each" Concordia dancer in each promotion. "We went from different comparsas, with a single objective, to promote our Carnival. There was never a difference and always the best relationship with all the guys and girls," she emphasizes.
Regarding her expectations for the upcoming new edition of the local festival, the Carnival Queen announced that she will not be in competition but that she will walk the track of the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" Corsódromo as the current sovereign of the festival and that she will fulfill an important role in the passage of Comparsa Ráfaga, the group she is a part of.
