This Friday, a new free vaccination day was held for people over 60 years of age, organized by the Department of Senior Citizen Policies in coordination with the Health Secretariat of the Municipality of Concordia. The activity took place in the Labor Training Room of the Civic Center, and marked the end of a stage of the program that will continue in December to complete the immunization schedule.
During the day, residents accessed tetanus, pneumococcal, hepatitis B, and flu vaccines, thanks to the joint work with the Municipal Epidemiological Node for Immunizations.
Gladys Beatriz Portugal, head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, highlighted: “These actions have as their central axis caring for our senior citizens, promoting equitable access to health, and strengthening the bond between the State and those who need it most. Each day reinforces our commitment to a city that thinks about all stages of life.”
For her part, Lic. Melina Simonetti, representative of the Epidemiological Node, stated: “This type of operation allows us to guarantee the right to health and bring the healthcare system closer to the community. We are closing a stage, but the work continues, and in December we will complete vaccination schedules and reinforce coverage.”
Under the administration of mayor Francisco Azcué, the promotion of active public policies that foster health, well-being, and the inclusion of senior citizens throughout the city is maintained.
