With a night filled with music, color, emotion, and identity, the city of Concordia held the official launch of the 2026 edition of the Concordia Carnival, kicking off a new season of the city's greatest popular festival, which will begin with the parades at the “Atanasio Bonfiglio” starting on January 24.
The event was experienced as a true family carnival celebration, with the joint participation of the four comparsas, reaffirming the spirit of unity, tradition, and belonging that characterizes the Concordia carnival.
During the presentation, the official song of the 2026 Carnival was performed live for the first time, creating a moment of great emotion among the audience present. Likewise, the live shows by the carnival drum sections stood out, making the hall vibrate with their characteristic energy and passion.
The night also included the presentation of awards to the winning figures of the previous edition, raffles for the public, and various artistic interventions that anticipated a season full of proposals, joy, and popular participation.
The Director of the Permanent Carnival Entity, Luis Sánchez, highlighted the importance of the launch and the collective work: “This carnival is identity, it is culture, and it is work for many families. The 2026 edition finds us with a consolidated carnival that grows year after year and is committed to organization, artistic quality, and the participation of all. Furthermore, we are advancing in a self-sustainable carnival model, taking care of resources and strengthening its long-term development.”
For his part, the Government Secretary of the Municipality of Concordia, Luciano Dell´Olio, underscored the social and cultural value of the event: “The Concordia Carnival is more than a show: it is a profound cultural expression and a public policy that generates employment, economic movement, and local pride. The 2026 edition challenges us to continue growing with a sustainable, inclusive, and family-oriented perspective, strengthening one of the most important festivals in the city and the region.”
Meanwhile, the Vice Mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza remarked on the community value of the carnival and its impact on local identity: “The carnival is one of the spaces where Concordia meets, recognizes itself, and projects itself. It is a cultural expression that unites generations, neighborhoods, and families, and reflects the enormous work of the comparsas and the entire community. Supporting and strengthening this popular festival is also betting on the cultural, tourist, and social development of our city.”
The organization emphasized that the 2026 Concordia Carnival is projected as an economically sustainable event, with responsible planning, strengthening the role of the carnival as a cultural, tourist, and economic engine, without losing its popular and community essence.
