The long Easter weekend left a very positive balance for tourism activity in Concordia, with a 70% hotel occupancy rate. This result continued the trend observed during the previous period for the Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, which reached 60% occupancy, evidencing sustained tourism behavior considering the proximity between both dates.
This past long weekend, with an average stay of two and a half nights, 82% of visitors were domestic tourists and 18% were international, mainly from the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. Among domestic tourists, 54% arrived from the province of Buenos Aires, 18% from different cities in Entre Ríos, 13% from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, 12% from Santa Fe, and 3% from other provinces (such as Corrientes and Córdoba).
Most chose Concordia for leisure and recreation, motivated mainly by the offer of the three thermal complexes. Regarding information sources, visitors indicated that they were informed mainly through recommendations from acquaintances, experiences from previous visits, social networks, brochures, and the tourism website.
In addition, the attendance at the emblematic Castillo San Carlos served as a strategic point to collect information on the origin of visitors and the composition of travel groups, which allowed for a precise understanding of the tourist profile of those who chose the city during this long weekend.
CULTURAL AND RECREATIONAL PROPOSALS THAT ATTRACTED TOURISTS
Activities developed at the Castillo San Carlos stood out, such as the Literary Visit, Architecture with History, and the Stations of the Cross, which attracted numerous participants. Added to these experiences were the daily visits to the Castillo, which take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Another important event was “Concordia in your Senses”, a proposal that combined local gastronomy and music with a live DJ, creating a meeting space with the community. Activities continued on Friday with the “7 Churches” Tourist Bus, which allowed for touring emblematic temples and learning about the cultural and religious richness of the city.
As a novelty, two new nocturnal experiences were offered, such as the City Tour and the Architectural tour with lanterns, an unprecedented proposal that allowed for appreciating the building heritage from another perspective, illuminating the details. In addition, the traditional Bridges of Faith circuit was developed, which tours temples and representative spaces of different religious communities in the city.
Another of the spaces most chosen by visitors was the Naranjal de Pereda, where during the afternoon the tours allowed for discovering more than 300 years of history and learning about the process of enhancement and revitalization of the place.
Also, the Compartí Concordia stand participated in the second edition of Pueblos y Sabores in Gualeguaychú. During the event, the main tourist, cultural, and gastronomic attractions of the national capital of citrus were promoted.
This set of proposals was carried out as a joint effort between the Undersecretariat of Tourism and the Mixed Tourism Entity of Concordia (Emcontur), with the aim of promoting the city's attractions and offering experiences that encourage visitors to return.
