The agreement was finalized within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (FIT) and links two cities in the Salto Grande Region, united by the Uruguay River and a shared history and winemaking tradition.
The Undersecretary of Tourism of Concordia and Executive President of the Mixed Concordiense Tourism Board (EMCONTUR), Belén Schauvinhold, and the Director of Tourism of the Departmental Government of Salto (R.O.U), Eduardo Sanguinetti, signed an agreement to advance the development of the Binational Tannat Route, which will bring together wineries, vineyards, gastronomy, and wine-related experiences on both sides of the border.
Concordia and Salto are part of the Salto Grande Region and maintain a close historical, cultural, productive, and tourist connection. The Uruguay River constitutes, in this sense, a meeting point that favors the development of new initiatives between both localities.
The Tannat represents one of the main meeting points for the region's viticulture, with producers, wineries, and gastronomic proposals that enrich the offer. The new route will allow for the enhancement of this heritage and the strengthening of wine tourism as a shared experience.
Furthermore, they agreed to develop promotion and dissemination actions to expand the presence of the destinations in different markets and provide greater visibility to their offer.
The agreement opens a new stage of work between Concordia and Salto, linking production, gastronomy, culture, and tourism. The invitation is to discover the Binational Tannat Route, tour its wineries and vineyards, and enjoy an experience that unites two cities, two countries, and the same identity on the banks of the Uruguay River.
