Although there is one week left for Emperatriz, Bella Samba, Ráfaga, and Imperio to take to the runway, one of the most important cultural events in Concordia already began to be experienced this Friday night.
With a 2024 edition full of novelties, the mayor Francisco Azcué presided over the launch of the Concordia Carnival, which the Mayor described as “the most important event we have in Concordia, it is cultural heritage,” highlighting the work of the entire organization, which had the particularity of having started with the previous administration and continued with the current one.
“Today there are people from the previous entity on the current team and that is positive. We are committed to consensus, dialogue, and teamwork, and today it was achieved that this carnival could be carried out in the framework of a complex economic context, but it was possible to do it with great effort, neatness, and transparency, taking care of resources, and of course, we hope to have the best carnival.”
Azcué also thanked the work and dedication of the comparsas Emperatriz, Bella Samba, Ráfaga, and Imperio, with presidents who carry this out with great vocation, seriousness, and respect. “I am sure that the carnival will continue to grow because of its people, because of those who make up each comparsa.”
“They have something that is what we Argentines, the people of Entre Ríos, and the people of Concordia need to move forward: passion. They give everything for this event, making economic and family efforts and showing all their love in each comparsa.”
CARNIVAL ALL YEAR ROUND
One of the announcements made during the night has to do with the fact that the Carnival Entity will work all year round starting from this edition.
“It will be permanent, it will be worked on all year round,” Azcué anticipated, adding that in this way it will continue to grow, so that it is not just a season but part of the year-round agenda because it is part of our identity, in our DNA.”
For his part, Luis Sánchez, from the Carnival Entity, highlighted the joint work that allows for the realization of the most passionate festival, each one from their place contributing their part, knowing that what each actor does is reciprocal with the one next to them.
That is why the aspiration is to achieve a Corsódromo Atanasio Bonfiglio that meets the circumstances, with all the conditions “ranging from the warehouses to having sound trucks. In that way, we are projecting ourselves for future editions,” remarked Sánchez.
RAFFLE OF A HOUSE
Another novelty is the raffle of a house from the company Roca. Every Saturday of the carnival, a contribution bond will be on sale, which will then be raffled on the last night.
Sánchez explained that each night “five coupons will be drawn that will go on to be in the final draw on the last night, which is why we thank Viviendas Roca for accompanying us in this edition.”
Carnival Queen Carla Delgado congratulated everyone who “is making this carnival possible today, I wish with all my heart that we all do very well. Every carnival participant deserves for this festival to grow and reach the level we all know. I wish a very happy carnival to everyone.”
ATTENDEES
Present were the vice-mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza; the Chief of Cabinet Eduardo Caminal; the Secretary of Government and Treasury Luciano Dell´Olio; the Secretary of Institutional Development Cristian Federik; the General Secretary of the Mayor's Office Lorena Aguilar; provincial deputies Liliana Salinas and Marcelo López; the Undersecretary of Tourism Laureano Schvartzman; the Undersecretary of Culture Jorge García; councilors Eliana Lagraña, Verónica del Boca, Mauricio Rey, Celeste Fuscado, Silvina Ovelar, as well as the presidents of the comparsas, members of the Carnival Entity, and the general public.
