On Thursday morning, at the Plaza de Armas of the 6th Blandengues Tank Cavalry Regiment, Mayor Francisco Azcué participated in the ceremony for the 215th anniversary of the Argentine Army, which was led by the Head of the Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Andrés Camarino.
“We are happy to honor and participate in this very special celebration, of an institution that we deeply respect and admire, and that we Argentines must protect and vindicate,” remarked Azcué, stating that “since its creation, it has been dedicated to defending the homeland, training people, and thousands of heroes who have defended our soil with honor.”
He also acknowledged that the local Regiment “has always been there in the most difficult moments of our city, of our history,” opening its doors to work on various actions such as the current Professional Training Program.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Andrés Camarino, stressed that “today is a day of unity and celebration where we welcome those who are retired but who do not cease to be part of the Army and are always welcome and invited to share these types of events with us. All of us who are part of an armed force do so out of a vocation of service and to serve.”
In his words, he also extended his gratitude for the permanent joint work with the Municipality of Concordia.
Present were Vice Mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza; Secretary of Health Diego Sauré; Undersecretary of Education and Culture Carlos Gatto; council members; representatives of the Armed Forces and Security forces; of institutions, Malvinas veterans, and the general public.
