"We are following the situation of the ARA San Juan submarine with great concern," stated Mayor Enrique Cresto.
He did so through social media, where he also stated, "we pray for a swift rescue and that the 44 crew members of the vessel are well. Especially Officer Fernando Mendoza, one of the crew members who is a resident of Concordia."
The mayor thus expressed his concern and, on behalf of the city, noted, "we stand with their families and friends in these moments of uncertainty."
The ARA San Juan submarine has not been detected on radar since last Wednesday; the Argentine Navy is conducting an intense search and tracking operation with the collaboration of forces from other countries.
