The Board of Directors of the Mixed Entity of Tourism of Concordia (EMCONTUR) held a new working meeting this Monday, in which fundamental axes for the strengthening of local tourism activity were addressed: the presentation of the 2025–2030 Sustainable Tourism Strategic Plan and the continuity of the “Explorá Concordia” educational program.
During the meeting, the roadmap for the launch and first workshop of the 2025-2030 Sustainable Tourism Strategic Plan was presented, which is being carried out jointly with the Faculty of Administration Sciences of the National University of Entre Ríos (UNER) in its role as a technical-academic reference. It will be presented on May 29th, and contemplates a participatory process that involves actors from the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors.
The central objective is to collectively build a shared vision of tourism for the coming years, based on the Smart Tourist Destination model promoted by SEGITTUR (Spain) and adapted in Argentina through the IRAM 42101:2022 Standard. The axes that structure this model —governance, innovation, technology, sustainability, and accessibility— will be addressed in the participatory workshop.
Likewise, progress was made on the guidelines for the second edition of the “Explorá Concordia 2025” program, developed in coordination with the Departmental Directorate of Schools and the Undersecretariat of Education of Concordia. This new stage will be aimed at 4th-year secondary school students and includes guided tours by tourist bus and walking tours through different points of the city, including visits to the Castillo San Carlos, promoting knowledge of local heritage and fostering the active role of young people as promoters of the destination. It should be noted that in its first edition, the program reached a participation of more than one thousand five hundred students, consolidating itself as a valuable tool for awareness, learning, and integration.
The Undersecretariat of Tourism of Concordia and EMCONTUR reaffirm their commitment to continue promoting integrated policies that strengthen the positioning of the city as a developing tourist destination, with participatory planning, local identity, and a sustainable view of growth.
