This morning, Mayor Enrique Cresto and Vice Mayor Armando Gay purchased their tickets to attend the Concordia Carnival parades that begin on Saturday, January 21. Both predicted a carnival “that will surprise the people of Concordia with its growth and color.” For the local Mayor, times of “growth and improvement” are coming for one of the city's most traditional celebrations.
"The passion with which this festival is experienced is unique in the whole country," highlighted Mayor Cresto. "When we took office, our decision was to work to make it the main tourist attraction of the summer in our city," said the municipal president. "The important thing is to work together, from the public sector, with institutions and the private sector, so that this festival continues to grow," and he assured that "this year the Carnival will consolidate itself as a popular spectacle of excellence."
"The Concordia Carnival is one of the best in the country, and I have no doubt that in a short time it will be the most important one," noted Vice Mayor and President of the Deliberative Council, Armando Gay. "Because of the color and the show provided by each troupe, which year after year put on a better presentation, and because of how it is experienced in the stands. It is a passion that is contagious," he described.
"Since the last edition, Mayor Enrique Cresto promoted clear measures to upgrade the Carnival and make it the great tourist spectacle of the summer. From the Carnival Entity, we are working in that direction," maintained the president of the Entity, Matías Soto. "The online ticket sales system is one of the objectives set by Mayor Cresto, because it is a benefit for tourists but also makes it easier for the residents of Concordia themselves to purchase them," he considered.
"Prize advances were delivered to the troupes, the venue was conditioned regarding the access and exit of the floats and artists, among other improvements, which help to provide a high-quality show, and which was achieved thanks to the support of the different areas of the municipality and the decision made by the Mayor," added Soto.
