With a very good turnout and favorable weather, this Saturday was the night where dancers, drummers, float builders, and the public reunited at the "Atanasio" Bonfiglio Corsódromo track. The joy of returning to the parades was present among the artists on the track and the public in the stands and VIP sectors. The greatest festival of Concordia is underway.
A few minutes past 10:00 PM, the inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, presided over by the mayor Alfredo Francolini and the Queen of the Concordia Carnival, Fátima Monzón. "We are very happy that the Concordia Carnival is taking place again, after the last edition had to be suspended for obvious reasons related to the pandemic. Concordia has a very high vaccination rate, and this allows us to hold these types of events, which are very important for the city," highlighted the mayor.
"The Carnival is a cultural festival that is deeply rooted in the people of Concordia. It is experienced with a unique passion. And it has been growing year after year and is consolidating as a great tourist attraction, assured Francolini and highlighted "the great effort made by the comparsas for this edition and the dedication of each of its members. DFrom the Municipality, work was done on many infrastructure improvements to the venue and the organization, and we will continue working in this way together to improve all aspects that need to be improved and so that the Carnival continues to grow because it benefits the entire city", maintained the mayor. "We are experiencing a very good summer season, with a large influx of tourists and starting tonight, every Saturday the Carnival will be the protagonist of the summer in Concordia", he emphasized.
The inaugural act was attended by the provincial Secretary of Tourism Gastón Irazusta, the president of the provincial Chamber of Deputies, Ángel Giano, Senator Armando Gay, the president of the Entre Ríos Chamber of Tourism, Leonardo Schey, the Municipality's Chief of Staff Alberto Armanazqui, the Secretary of Tourism and Innovation Aldo Álvarez, the Secretary of Sports and Education, Marcelo Cresto, the Secretary of Urban Development, Mireya López Berni, the Municipality's Secretary of Finance Mónica Lifchitz, the Secretary of Social Development and Production, Fernando Barboza, council members Gastón Etchepare, Juan Domingo Gallo and Cristina Guitar, the Executive Director of the Carnival Entity Miguel Guitar, among others.
In addition, the queens of the city of Concordia provided their charisma and elegance: María Pía Buchhammer, 2021 Student Queen, the Queen of the Provincial Immigrant Festival Agustina Lorenzatto, the Vice-Queen of the National Citriculture Festival Agostina Sarbioli, the Queen of the Little Elves Carnival Isabella Segovia, and the candidates for the Concordia carnival queen title, Florencia Stanghelini from Comparsa Emperatriz, Delfina Sersewitz from Comparsa Bella Samba, Brenda Vitori from Comparsa Imperio and Lucía Costa from Comparsa Ráfaga.
The parade began around 11:00 PM, with an incredible turnout of the public anxiously awaiting the return of the Concordia Carnival. The comparsa Imperio was in charge of opening the night, then Bella Samba made its way, followed by Ráfaga, and the night was closed by the current champion of the Concordia Carnival, Comparsa Emperatriz. Impressive floats, costumes that dazzled with their color and designs, songs that were sung along to by the entire public, and the Drum Show as a corollary to the passage of each comparsa through the Corsódromo track, made everyone dance and have fun.
After the green and white passed through the track, and as the last attendees were leaving, the first drops of a rain that had waited all night began to fall. The "Bonfiglio" closed its first curtain and the reunion was made possible. There are 5 nights left of pure passion, joy, and color, of a Carnival that does not stop growing.
