The Health Secretariat of the Municipality of Concordia, in conjunction with the NEA Region of the National Fire Management Plan, belonging to the National Fire Management Service (SNMF), will carry out a new edition of the Basic Forest Firefighter Course (CBCIF).
The training will take place between August 18 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Concordia Convention Center. This course is intended to prepare and train brigade members with theoretical, technical, and physical knowledge to face forest fires, in view of the upcoming summer season.
The course will be taught by instructors from the SNMF – NEA Region, under the coordination of Forest Firefighter Daniel Blanco, who is also the Regional Coordinator of the National Fire Management Plan.
The training program includes three stages:
Theoretical: it will include study materials and note-taking supplies, providing the essential foundations on fire management and combat safety.
Physical: evaluative tests will be carried out under professional supervision. Participants will have appropriate sportswear and hydration to carry out these activities.
Technical: field practices will be carried out with full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), simulating real fire combat conditions.
Each of these stages will be evaluated by the National Fire Management Service, and those who pass them will receive the official CBCIF Certification.
In this regard, the Secretary of Health, Dr. Diego Sauré, stated that “this course will be held to train all personnel in the city and the province ahead of the next summer. During the last season, the city and the entire region were affected by large fires. That is why this training will help us to immediately extinguish any type of fire outbreak.”
