With stands packed with spectators who cheered on their neighborhood troupes with foam, confetti, and flags as they passed through the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" track, the 2020 edition of the Concordia carnival nursery came to a close.
A great celebration was experienced at the Corsódromo with the parade of the 18 children's troupes that bring to life a popular carnival unique in the entire country. During the long weekend for the carnival holidays, Concordia reaffirmed that it is the city of all carnivals, where all expressions of this popular festival have their place. And that Los Pequeños Duendes augur a great future for the biggest summer festival, with young percussionists and dancers who demonstrated all their passion and carnival charisma.
"Each troupe was given a memento of their participation in this edition, on behalf of Enrique Cresto and his wife Leticia Ponzinibbio, who carried out this program as a State policy, and of Mayor Alfredo Francolini who continues to support the realization of this festival where all the children express themselves artistically, learn, and it is a space for social support," commented Sonia Albornos, coordinator of Neighborhood Workshops and Cultural Events of the Municipality.
"We had a great edition and a magnificent closing at the Corsódromo, with the stands packed with people, experiencing a great popular celebration. The Pequeños Duendes Carnival has grown a lot, and it is reflected in the effort and commitment made by each of the directors and collaborators of each troupe," Albornos valued, and thanked "each of the areas of the Municipality and the Conased Foundation, who made this event possible."
In addition to the parade of the troupes, during the evening of this Sunday the public enjoyed the show by Victoria Walls, and the performance of the group "Brazuca", who brought rhythm to the day.
National Deputy Mayda Cresto, Provincial Senator Armando Gay, Popular Festivals Coordinator Matías Soto, Undersecretary of Culture Cesar Tisocco, Undersecretary of Communication Luis Santana, Events Coordinator Verónica Kinderknecht, and Councilwomen Claudia Villalba, Lia Solís, and Estela Maldonado were some of the authorities who, along with other municipal officials, accompanied the final parade. The presence of Orlando Canido, head of the Manaos firm, official sponsor of the Concordia Carnival, was also noted, who expressed his surprise at the quality of the show provided by the little ones.
