"We have reached the culmination of a stage, the crowning of the 2019 edition of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival, and in this way also the start of the work towards the 2020 children's carnival," pointed out Sonia Albornos, coordinator of Cultural Events and Neighborhood Workshops of the Municipality. "And we are already beginning in the month of July with the training sessions and workshops for the 2020 edition," indicated Albornos.
"I was just remembering with Sonia that the Pequeños Duendes Carnival has already been around for several decades, that it has had its ups and downs, with greater or lesser support from municipal administrations, but that it has been important as an impulse for the main Carnival, and that it is also not just a carnival program, but rather a strong policy of inclusion, education, culture and social development, which today Leticia Ponzinibio from the Conased Foundation and the mayor Enrique Cresto have strengthened," expressed María de los Ángeles Petit, institutional advisor to the Municipal Executive.
"It is a program that contributes to the support of the children, and that we are sure must become a State Policy that transcends administrations, because of what it means as a breeding ground for the Carnival but also and above all because of the strong social impact it has on the children who participate, and the relevance it has as a popular festival," maintained Petit.
