In the sixth ordinary session of the year, the legislative body advanced in the restructuring of municipal housing policies. The day featured the participation of students from the Escuela CREER and emotional tributes to the figure of J.J. de Urquiza.
The Deliberative Council of Concordia held a new ordinary session this Thursday, presided over by the vice-mayor, Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza. With eleven council members present, the central debate was marked by the administrative reform of the municipal State and the promotion of regional economies.
Reorganization in Housing and Lands
The most prominent point of the day was the approval by majority (eight votes) of the Ordinance that repeals the creation of the Municipal Autarkic Housing and Land Institute (InVyTAM). The head of the legislative body, Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza, highlighted that this decision marks a paradigm shift in the city's housing policy. "The main objective is to achieve more efficient management," explained the vice-mayor, underlining that the dissolution of the autarkic entity will allow for substantial savings in operating expenses and the elimination of political positions.
Likewise, she stressed that the responsibility for land and housing policies will be absorbed directly by the Secretariat of Public Works. "By centralizing land policy in the Secretariat, we seek to give it more strength and agility. We have the necessary technical tools so that the processes are much faster and more effective for the benefit of the residents," concluded Reta de Urquiza.
For its part, the Justicialista Party bloc decided not to support the initiative. The opposition council members expressed their disagreements and pointed out that they are awaiting a response to a Request for Access to Public Information regarding the agency, the deadline for which is still in effect.
Commitment to Health and Productive Development
During the session, the body unanimously approved two important resolution projects:
Tributes
In terms of tributes, council member Claudia Villalba (PJ-Mas para Entre Ríos bloc) expressed her firm solidarity with teacher Martín Valdez, a victim of threats after a pedagogical session at School No. 37 “Ernesto Che Guevara”. “An attack on a teacher is an attack on the community,” she stated, a position that was endorsed by council member Silvina Ovelar.
Likewise, Ovelar paid a heartfelt tribute to General Justo José de Urquiza on the eve of a new anniversary of his assassination at the Palacio San José (April 11, 1870). The council member vindicated his figure as "Organizer of the Nation" and architect of the 1853 Constitution, calling for keeping his legacy of federal unity alive.
Institutional Visit
The session had a special setting thanks to the presence of 6th-grade students from Escuela N° 232 CREER, who, together with their teachers, participated in the day as part of the educational visit programs promoted by the Deliberative Council to bring legislative work closer to the city's schools.

During the session, the body unanimously approved two important resolution projects:
- National Pecan Conference 2026
At the proposal of council member Pablo Bovino, the event - which takes place from April 8 to 10 at the Convention Center and the Yuquerí area - was declared of Municipal Interest. The initiative highlights Concordia as a strategic hub for this regional economy that brings together representatives from nine provinces.
- World Parkinson's Day
Following a project by council member Silvina Ovelar, the lighting of public buildings in red for this April 11 was approved. The measure seeks to raise awareness in the community about this disease and encourage early detection.
