This weekend, between Sunday and next Tuesday, Concordia will host a new edition of the Popular Carnival of Joy, which this year comes with an intense schedule of activities so that the public can learn in workshops but also sing, dance, and enjoy the murgas.
From the “Momo” Group, Mario Spinelli, Diego Giménez, and Maite Lescano provided details of what will be taking place, starting next Sunday at 5:00 PM at the Culture Station, at the former North Station, with the celebrations of the murga Los Desorbitados del Puerto, where there will also be workshops, games, and raffles.
The following day, Monday the 27th, the Carnival Stage will be held, with free access, at Plaza Urquiza, from 8:00 PM.
Previously, there will be free workshops. Various artists from Concordia and the region will take the stage, and it will be possible to dance, sing, and enjoy murgas, candombe, and Latin American folklore.
Concluding the long weekend, on Tuesday, February 28th, as tradition dictates, the Burial of the Carnival will take place, with a popular parade of masks and costumes to bid farewell to King Momo, starting at 8:00 PM from Plaza Urquiza to Plaza 25 de Mayo. Murgas, carnival groups, and comparsas will participate in the parade, and all those who wish to participate are invited to do so freely.
The organizers thanked the mayor Enrique Cresto and the Undersecretary of Culture César Tisocco for their support and invited the entire community to join the celebrations of the Popular Carnival of Joy.
