Mayor Francisco Azcué visited the “Doña Pupa” company plant this Thursday, located in Colonia Roca, a family business that over the years has become a market leader in legumes in cardboard packaging.
There, he was received by Oscar Rodríguez and his sons Federico and Gonzalo. Accompanied by the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination and Treasury, Pablo Ferreyra, the Secretary of Productive Development Federico Schattenhofer, and the Undersecretary of Communication and Press, Magdalena Molteni, they toured the facilities that currently occupy a 30,000 square meter site.
“Doña Pupa is a source of pride for the people of Concordia. It is a company that is committed to genuine employment, representing us throughout the country and the world with a quality product,” highlighted Azcué, who reaffirmed the administration's commitment to support and offer the accompaniment of the Municipal State with actions that allow for its growth.
“From the first day, we have been maintaining that the engine of growth and development for Concordia is the private sector; that is why in this year and a half of government, we have been working and applying measures that favor the evolution of those who bet on our city some time ago, as well as the establishment of new ventures,” he remarked.
For us, “it is important that they can see the effort we put into production and the work of Concordia, contributing our grain of sand, which is why we thank you for the support you provide us,” pointed out Gonzalo Rodríguez.
PRODUCTION
Currently, “Doña Pupa” has three production lines that produce 6,000 units per hour each, working 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
They currently represent 30% of the national market in terms of legumes in cardboard, in addition to exporting to countries such as Chile, the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, and Paraguay, with the possibility of reaching Mexico and the Netherlands.
The company settled in Concordia in 2017, “which has allowed us to position the brand, with a very good reception in the city, since people tell us they are happy that they are products made here. Today we are thinking about the future, organizing new investments planned for this year as well as for 2026 that will allow for an increase in production of around 600 tons per month,” indicated Federico Rodríguez.
In addition to generating genuine employment, having a strong presence in the national market, and exporting, “Doña Pupa” is also focused on sustainability. Due to the location of its plant in an area of forest plantations, the boiler is fueled by forest residues and does not use gas.
