In the framework of the International Day of Older Persons, which is commemorated every October 1st, the Municipality of Concordia invites you to participate in a walk that will take place next Friday, October 2nd, at 9:30 a.m., starting from Plaza Urquiza and arriving at Plaza 25 de Mayo.
The initiative is organized by the Department of Policies for the Elderly, belonging to the Directorate of Cooperativism and Associativism, and proposes to generate a space for meeting, participation, and healthy activity for the older persons of the city.
The proposal seeks to promote an active and healthy life, in addition to generating a moment of meeting, recreation, and shared enjoyment.
The head of the Department of Policies for the Elderly, Gladys Portugal, highlighted the importance of the proposal: “We want to invite all older persons in Concordia to join us. The idea is that we can meet, walk together, and enjoy a different morning, sharing with others.”
“These activities are important because they generate spaces for participation and strengthen bonds. We want older persons to be protagonists and to be able to fully enjoy these spaces,” added Portugal.
In this sense, she pointed out that the International Day of Older Persons also constitutes an opportunity to “recognize their rights, value their experiences, and highlight everything they contribute to our community.”
ABOUT THE ACTIVITY
The gathering will be at 9:30 a.m. at Plaza Urquiza, from where the route to Plaza 25 de Mayo will begin.
At the end of the walk, participants will be welcomed by the Undersecretariat of Tourism with healthy juices to share. The day will also feature a musical presentation by César Ceballos, a veteran member of the El Ceibo choir.
In addition, there will be a vaccination stand from the Secretariat of Health, led by Lic. Melina Simonetti, representative of the Epidemiological Node, as part of the health and prevention actions planned for the day. The Directorate of Traffic of Concordia will participate and collaborate in the safety and organization of the route.
