At the end of last week, at the Palacio Barolo in the city of Buenos Aires, Concordia was distinguished as the "2025 Art Nouveau City of America," an achievement that reinforces its commitment to the preservation and dissemination of its valuable architectural heritage. This designation positions it nationally and internationally as a benchmark in cultural and architectural tourism.
The certification mentions that the choice of the city of Concordia for this distinction is due to its elaborate Art Nouveau buildings in all their European variants, for its mansion housing the Bishopric with its extraordinary original interiors, for its Belle Époque heritage tour circuit with 16 highlighted attractions, and for its marquees, lighting fixtures, majolica tiles, and ironwork.
This recognition is in addition to its incorporation, in 2024, into the Argentine Art Nouveau Route, becoming the first city in the Mesopotamia region to be part of this select circuit. The certification obtained validates its architectural wealth and its importance within the movement in the region.
The title was granted by the Art Nouveau Buenos Aires Association (AANBA) and the Argentine Art Nouveau Route (RANN), with the support of the National Secretariat of Tourism. Along with Concordia, the city of San Miguel de Tucumán also received this distinction, consolidating both as the great Art Nouveau capitals in America.
Following this designation, Concordia will participate in prominent events and projects, such as "AANBA Urban Tourism" and the "Pan-American Art Nouveau Route," in connection with the Art Nouveau Network (RANN) and the European Art Nouveau Route. In addition, it will have representation at prominent events such as the International Tourism Fair (FIT).
The prestigious work of AANBA in the valorization of heritage ensures high-level recognition for Concordia, with the backing of entities such as CAME Turismo (Argentine Confederation of Medium-Sized Enterprises), FECOBA (Federation of Commerce and Industry of the City of Buenos Aires), ICOMOS (UNESCO International Council on Monuments and Sites), and the European Union.
This appointment consolidates the National Capital of Citrus as a key destination in the Art Nouveau circuit, generating new opportunities for tourism and cultural development.
