The Municipality of Concordia, through the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture, will carry out the 2026 edition of Reading Week, under the slogan “A book is a dream you hold in your hands,” a proposal that seeks to promote the reading habit and generate spaces for cultural encounter throughout the community.
The activity takes place in coincidence with International Book Day, which is commemorated every April 23, a symbolic date for universal literature in tribute to great authors such as Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare, and Garcilaso de la Vega.
The launch will take place next Thursday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the gazebo in Plaza 25 de Mayo. During the day, reading activities, playful proposals, and recreational educational spaces open to the entire community will be held.
Throughout the week, the proposal will travel to different points of the city with the participation of the Mobile Library, reading and writing stations, oral narrations, recreational activities, and special presentations, such as the participation of Uruguayan writers in the “Las que cuentan” cycle.
