The Municipality reminds that the deadlines to join the poetry contest “Concordia en Verso - Palabras que nos nombran” are in effect, an initiative of the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture, in conjunction with the Departmental Directorate of Schools, which seeks to foster creativity, sensitivity, and the construction of identity through writing, taking as a trigger the commemoration of the passing of one of the most transcendental writers of universal literature, Jorge Luis Borges.
The contest is aimed at students of state and private educational institutions in the city, covering the second cycle of the primary level and the entire secondary level; as well as the community in general, through an open category for people over 18 years of age residing in Concordia.
The contest includes three categories: Primary Level, Secondary Level, and a “General Public” category, thus promoting an inclusive and participatory space that strengthens the bond between culture and the community. Productions may be individual or group-based in the case of students, while for the open category, participation will be individual.
The works must be unpublished, of own authorship, and in free-form poetry format, with a maximum length of one page. Regarding the theme, it will be free, suggesting axes such as identity, territory, bonds, emotions, and different perspectives on the world.
Productions may be submitted during the months of April and May, with the deadline for submission being Friday, May 22. They must be delivered in printed format, in a sealed envelope, at the offices of the Directorate of Education, located at Avellaneda 26, complying with the corresponding identification requirements according to the category.
