The Municipal Veterinary Department, under the Secretariat of Health of the Municipality of Concordia, held an anti-rabies vaccination day at Plaza 25 de Mayo. The activity welcomed dozens of residents who brought their pets to receive their dose free of charge.
In this regard, the head of the Municipal Veterinary Department, Julio Gesualdi, emphasized that “in addition to administering vaccines, what we did was raise awareness and educate, since education is a fundamental tool for changing society, especially regarding animals.”
“During the day we received both dogs and cats, all over 3 months of age” with the goal of reaching 300 vaccinations.
Finally, Gesualdi recalled that the Municipality of Concordia carries out a vaccination program that travels through different sectors of the city. In the case of the anti-rabies vaccine, it is part of the mandatory calendar “and that is why, as a state policy, we will continue to vaccinate free of charge.”
It should be noted that the initiative aims to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent zoonotic diseases such as rabies, which affects both animals and people.
