The mayor Enrique Cresto, in his decision to make all management processes transparent, ordered by decree the creation of a Council integrated by institutions, NGOs and representatives of all political parties, to address and decide on the relocation of the families surveyed by the Municipality, whose homes are located at elevations 12 to 15.
Through a decree signed ad-referendum of the Deliberative Council, the mayor provides that the granting of the homes managed before the Province and the Nation for families in flood-prone areas, be defined by this Council specially created for this purpose and constituted by social institutions, non-governmental organizations and representatives of all political parties. "The more participation there is, the smaller the margin of error will be," Cresto pointed out in reference to the project.
Currently, in the northwest area of the city, 350 homes are being built for the families affected by the last flood. Of that quota, 100 correspond to homes that the National Government acquired from the Toyota company, and manufactured by the company Alquivial, in charge of the transport and placement of the housing modules in the lots pre-established by the municipality. The rest corresponds to homes that, with the efforts of Minister Mauro Urribarri and Governor Gustavo Bordet, will be built through the IAPV directed by Alfredo Francolini.
Given this, Cresto considered "it is important that there is the greatest possible transparency, and that we all commit ourselves to this process that will bring a definitive solution to many families. That is why we call on social institutions and political parties to actively participate in the relocation process, in this way we will guarantee that the adjudication of the homes is done with the greatest possible justice," indicated the mayor.
Not everything will end with the transfer of these families to safer places, added the head of the Municipal Executive, but then the task will come to prevent new families from settling in the flood-prone areas that will remain free. Given this, Cresto maintained that "we are going to proceed with the landscaping but we are also preparing agreements with the security forces to be able to carry out a control of these spaces", he indicated.
"The objective of this administration is to put an end to a problem that has existed for many years in Concordia, to recover that area as was already done in a first instance in the Costanera, and to provide families with a dignified home where they can develop. We will reach that objective by articulating joint work with the Province, the Nation and the intermediate institutions of the city," he concluded.
