The “Campo del Abasto” is the 243-hectare municipal site, located northwest of the city, where solid urban waste from the entire Concordia Department is disposed of.

For more than 30 years, the site has received 150 tons of solid urban waste, being one of the largest open-air dumps in the Province of Entre Ríos.

In May 2021, the sanitation and conversion work of the open-air dump began, where through the “Federal Plan for the Eradication of Open-Air Dumps” it will be transformed into a model regional environmental complex for the country.

The project not only contemplates the sanitation and closure of the dump, but also the construction of a new waste separation plant that will process and treat 100% of the waste arriving at the site; the construction of 3 cells that will guarantee adequate final disposal of waste in a sanitary landfill that will have a useful life of 20 years; new administrative offices, restrooms, changing rooms, afforestation of the site, and the incorporation of new heavy machinery to treat MSW, among others.
