The assessment was carried out by the Director of the Permanent Carnival Entity, Luis Sánchez, who provided an analysis of the first night, which brought together thousands of spectators at the Atanasio Bonfiglio Corsódromo.
On Monday morning, the President of the Permanent Carnival Entity, Luis Sánchez, gave an assessment of the first night of Carnival. He remarked that “the Carnival of Concordia is one of the most important events in the city and the country. Thank God the first night went quite well, and that is the feedback I am receiving from people. Of course, there are details to improve, but by and large, it went quite well,” he said.
The following day, Sánchez commented that he took “the liberty of getting in touch with the four comparsas because the first thing I need to know are the errors that may have existed in order to correct them. The first person I have to pamper is the carnival performer because if we need to provide a better show starting from the first night, we must solve the problems of the comparsas,” he emphasized.
Likewise, he maintained that “in Concordia we have raw gold. The first thing we have to do is make the residents of Concordia understand the magnitude of the spectacle we have. From now on, I will start working for the next edition. We have the best percussion section in the country, the queens, and the incomparable passion of the carnival participants,” he stressed.
SERVICES
Sánchez also took some time to refer to the different services provided within the venue, starting with the canteen service. In this regard, he stated that “there are some issues to work on, which have to do with the prices of food and drinks,” adding that although controls were carried out in this regard, “we have received comments on some issues that we are going to address.”
Next, he highlighted the portable toilet, hygiene, and security service. “Hand in hand with the mayor Francisco Azcué, we have had the different areas of the government at our disposal. That speaks to the support for the Carnival Entity. That is why, due to different recommendations we received, we decided to implement sinks for people to use. I have heard very good things about the security, even though it was quite congested at the entrance.”
LA KONGA
Finally, the official revealed that the well-known quartet band “La Konga” will be arriving in the city to perform on Friday, February 23, as an attraction and conclusion to the 2024 Carnival.
“The band has always wanted to come to Concordia and they have communicated with us. This week we will define the ticket sales, amounts, which will be accessible given the current situation we are living in, and locations,” concluded Sánchez.
