“We got through the winter quite well, but the pandemic remains a real threat and we are going through a stage in which individual social responsibility is fundamental to comply with the protocols and prevention measures,” noted the Secretary of Health and Sports of the Municipality, Mauro García, in reference to the current epidemiological situation and the arrival of days with higher temperatures.
“Together with mayor Alfredo Francolini, the COES and the provincial Health team, we are monitoring the situation at every moment. We state that we have a relatively controlled epidemiological situation in the city, which has been achieved with great effort from everyone and great commitment from all the personnel working in the health system, in the controls, and in the prevention operations. But we have by no means overcome the situation. The pandemic continues to be a very real threat and we are very concerned, addressing the problem,” said Health Secretary Mauro García.
"Now new openings and authorizations are coming, with the arrival of the month of October and warmer days, people go out more to the streets and public spaces,” he commented. “It is important at this moment not to lower our guard and to maximize prevention measures so that there is no wave of infections,” he pointed out in statements to local media.
“Individual care is fundamental. You must always wear a face mask, you must sanitize your hands frequently, not share mate, maintain social distancing, and all the measures that we all already know. It is the main way to avoid many infections and the saturation of the health system,” the official indicated.
“I want to insist on this. We went through the winter, we prepared the health systems, we carried out a strong education and awareness campaign, and we will continue to do so. Authorizations were granted by sector, analyzing each Protocol in detail. We all made a great effort; today we must remain on high alert, taking care of ourselves and taking care of others so that all the effort we made is not in vain and we do not have to go back,” the professional emphasized.
“We do not want to start adding cases in fifteen days due to the misuse of the new authorizations that were granted, and have to go back. No one wants to spend the summer in a strict quarantine or in phase one. It is not good for anyone, neither economically, nor emotionally, nor for the health system. We ask the youngest to be responsible, think that if they get infected they take the virus home and put their parents and grandparents at risk, who can be affected more delicately by this disease. But not only the young, we must all be responsible and aware that if everyone complies with wearing a face mask and maintaining distance, it will be better for everyone,” the physician explained.
