As part of the regular site visits to the works being carried out in different parts of Concordia, Mayor Francisco Azcué announced a new stage of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, soon to be put out to tender, for more than 2,400,000,000 pesos, to be executed with own funds.
While works in Villa Adela are advancing in stage I; paving works included in stage II are being carried out and stage III is about to begin, Azcué announced that on October 27 the bids for stage IV of the PID will be opened, which includes the paving of 18 blocks: De Los Viñedos street, between Tavella street and Eva Perón Avenue and Pampa Soler Avenue, between Independencia Avenue and Don Segundo Sombra street.
It also includes the systematization of storm drains on Pampa Soler Avenue and Las Palmeras; Pampa Soler Avenue and Sargento Adolfo Luis Cabrera street; De Los Viñedos street, between Sarmiento and Gobernador Cresto (new storm drainage system) and on Gobernador Cresto street between De Los Viñedos and Facundo López Firpo (reconditioning and expansion of the existing storm drainage system).
VILLA ADELA
“We are in Villa Adela, where paving is progressing on Idelfonso Cuadrado street, Unión Avenue and Ecuador street. In addition, curbing is being done, which will allow for the improvement of the neighborhood's road infrastructure,” indicated Azcué.
In this regard, the mayor maintained that “these are interventions that residents had been waiting for for a long time and they can already see that, in a little while, the works will be finished. Day by day and as the weather permits, the works continue.”
The Secretary of Public Works, Fernando Esquibel, explained: “the works in Villa Adela comprise a comprehensive intervention on Idelfonso Cuadrado street, Unión Avenue and Ecuador street, considered main arteries of the neighborhood due to public transport circulation and movement linked to schools and commercial activity.”
Curb and gutter works, storm drains, collection chambers, dips and new sewer and water connections are being executed where necessary, as well as soil preparation for subsequent paving. “LED lighting will be incorporated into the paved blocks, along with other complementary improvements, such as security cameras, bus shelters and signage, with the aim of moving towards comprehensive urbanization and improving the quality of public spaces,” affirmed Esquibel.
OWN FUNDS
Regarding the PID, Mayor Azcué emphasized that it is possible thanks to the orderly management of municipal resources, based on the commitment of the community that complies with its tax obligations.
“We are closing 2026 with works completed, in execution, to be executed and to be tendered. And it is possible because there is order and optimization of resources. In 2027 we will continue intervening in streets, bringing pavement, public lighting, improvements in water and sewer networks, public spaces and actions linked to human development,” remarked Azcué.
