This morning, Mayor Francisco Azcué presided over the meeting of the Emergency Operations Committee (COE), which was convened due to the rising of the Uruguay River.
On this occasion, the action protocols provided for these types of situations were established through joint work between different areas of the Municipality of Concordia, city organizations and institutions, together with the Armed and Security Forces.
In the event of possible evacuations, should the level of the Uruguay River rise, locations to house families, personnel and vehicles for transport, food and clothing assistance, health care, and security measures have already been established.
The only telephone number enabled to request assistance is 103.
In this regard, Mayor Azcué pointed out that the river level by mid-morning this Tuesday was 11.15 meters and that monitoring is constant, receiving information from the daily reports from Salto Grande. “The objective of this meeting was to finish coordinating the details of the action protocol, beyond the fact that we were already in contact with the different members of the COE,” he remarked.
In that sense, he highlighted that all accommodation, transport, assistance, and security devices have already been established; therefore, he asked the community that all information they require will be communicated through the official channels of the Municipality of Concordia.
