The mayor Francisco Azcué, accompanied by the Concordia Police Chief, Inspector Commissioner José María Rosatelli, the Government Secretary Luciano Dell’Olio, and the Undersecretary of Citizen Security Claudio Purgart, supervised the launch of the new license plate reading system at the Monitoring Center. This tool strengthens crime prevention and improves vehicle control in the city. Later, the authorities toured Villa Adela, where one of the units is located.
The initiative was made possible thanks to the Municipality's decision to join the Federal Program for Centralized Security Equipment (PRO.FED.E.C.), promoted by the National Ministry of Security. In this framework, the mayor Francisco Azcué, together with the Concordia Departmental Headquarters of the Entre Ríos Police, managed a cooperation agreement that enabled the installation of the equipment and the administration of the system through the 911 Monitoring and Video Surveillance Room.
This involves the installation of license plate readers at the three main access points, which allow for the real-time registration of vehicle entry and exit, taking photographs of each car and storing the images along with the license plate information. Based on this data, the police force can perform precise searches by license plate number, make, model, or color of the vehicle, generating a permanent record that strengthens prevention and control tools.
The system is integrated with the database of the Automotive Property Registry, which allows for an immediate response to alert situations. In the event that a reader detects a vehicle with a seizure order or linked to a criminal act, the platform issues an automatic notification to the Entre Ríos Police. In this way, the identification of stolen vehicles or those involved in illicit acts is streamlined.
The administration and operation of the system are carried out through the 911 Monitoring and Video Surveillance Room of the Concordia Departmental Headquarters of the Entre Ríos Police. The implementation was made possible thanks to a collaboration agreement signed between them and the Municipality of Concordia.
“This is a joint effort, which now allows us to identify the vehicles that enter and leave Concordia,” noted Azcué, stressing that “it is a tool for judicial investigations carried out in our city, given that we can now know at what time a vehicle entered, a license plate can be uploaded, and we can know when it passed through a certain place.”
For his part, Dell’Olio explained that the idea is to coordinate the management of data related to security. “Having accurate data allows us to collaborate with the Entre Ríos Police to advance judicial investigations. The central objective is to have a safer city and to ensure that crime does not enter Concordia.”
Meanwhile, Commissioner Rosatelli maintained that “since the beginning of the year, we have been carrying out joint actions, in a permanent and collaborative manner. These tools allow us to continue strengthening security in the city as they provide us with information on the entries and exits that occur through the main access points.”
Finally, Purgart highlighted that this can be achieved as a result of the joint actions that have been carried out between the Municipality and the Province. “When we talk about management and articulated work, these are the results: having more tools to have an increasingly safer city.”
