Mayor Francisco Azcué inaugurated this Thursday the paving of 6 de Caballería street, a project executed with own funds, within the framework of Stage II of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial (PID) carried out by the Municipality of Concordia.
The works were carried out in the section between San Lorenzo boulevard and Chabrillón. Before laying the asphalt, complementary renovation tasks were executed on water and sewage networks, LED lighting, storm drainage, reconstruction of deteriorated curbs, and construction of new gutters.
“Behind every completed project there is great work, effort, and sacrifice that allowed us to reach what we are developing today through the Infrastructure Plan, which has taken more than two and a half years, organizing the Municipality,” stated Azcué, after having walked the intervened sector with the residents.
In that sense, he stated that “through efficiency and the proper management of resources coming from taxpayers, by controlling them, we have reached this reality which is not a product of chance: in this 2026 we are carrying out the largest budget, with own resources, that the Municipality has ever had, and in 2027 we will double it.”
“We are demonstrating that much can be done with municipal resources and that money is sufficient when it goes where it needs to go. In this way, we can transform our city; this is just the beginning, there is much left to do, and we are optimistic that as a State we will reach all citizens of Concordia, not only with public works but also with culture, sports, social development, and education, with each one contributing from their respective place.”
Mario Rodríguez, a resident of the area, expressed his gratitude “for being able to be united today at the inauguration of this work and enjoying how everything has turned out, with the new sewage and water networks, and lighting. Finally, something has been achieved in this neighborhood,” he remarked.
The II stage of the PID includes the paving of 34 blocks, including the inaugurated section, located in different sectors of the northeast area of the city, with the objective of forming a circulation ring that improves transitability, revalues properties, and connects educational establishments, social institutions, among others.
Under construction are San Juan street, between Arruabarrena and Etchevehere, and Belgrano street, between San Lorenzo and Salto Uruguayo. It also includes the paving of Etchevehere street, between San Juan and Hipólito Yrigoyen; Hipólito Yrigoyen street, between Etchevehere and O'Connor; and O'Connor street, between Hipólito Yrigoyen and Eva Perón Ave.
