With the parade start date set for January 21, the comparsas begin the journey that will lead them to star in the warm summer nights of Concordia at the “Atanasio Bonfiglio” Municipal Corsódromo.
In this sense, the start of work on the construction of floats and other structures that allow each group to showcase their display each weekend takes on special relevance.
For this reason, one of the points agreed upon by the mayor Enrique Cresto with the comparsas was the immediate formalization of the handover of the warehouses at the Parque Central de la Concordia (former North station).
To this end, members of the Carnival Entity and representatives of the comparsas toured the premises, evaluated the condition of the warehouses, and agreed on work guidelines for the coming months.
“The mayor knows the reality of the Carnival and the comparsas, because in his first term he did a great deal to make the Carnival grow,” said Miguel Guitar, president of the Carnival Entity, regarding this, “that is why now, having resumed his administration, he determined a series of decisions together with the comparsas to boost the development of this festival for everyone,” he added.
"This week we are touring the warehouses, supervising the premises, defining priorities for the tasks to be executed, and advancing the work plan that the mayor proposed to the representatives of Bella Samba, Imperio, Ráfaga, and Emperatriz," detailed Guitar.
COMPARSEROS VALUE THE MAYOR'S SUPPORT
With a schedule already established and eyes set on 2023, the leaders of the comparsas praised the implementation of this process and the commitment of the municipal administration to this popular festivity.
“It is very positive that the mayor has established this working group with the comparsas. We are convinced that by working together we will have a great Carnival,” highlighted Victoria Duimovich, from the Ráfaga comparsa.
“We have Carnival 2023. The four comparsas had a meeting with the mayor Enrique Cresto, we debated, exchanged ideas, and reached a successful conclusion, agreeing on the parade dates and the way we are going to work for this edition,” highlighted Cristián Timón, from the Imperio comparsa.
“We value this openness proposed by the mayor to give the comparsas participation in all aspects that make up the development of the Carnival, and we think it is important that there is consensus regarding the objectives of the Carnival, because shared effort is the best way to consolidate the success of this festival for everyone,” concluded the representative from Imperio.
