The Municipality of Concordia, through the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture, will hold this Sunday, February 15, starting at 8:30 PM, at Plaza 25 de Mayo, the event “Carnival, Culture and Community: A weekend to celebrate together”, an open and free proposal aimed at highlighting one of the most representative cultural manifestations of the city during the long Carnival weekend.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the gathering, local identity, and regional exchange, promoting Carnival as a living expression of art, collective work, and community participation.
The celebration will feature the participation of the Candombe Workshop La Vía Candombe, the children's group Pequeños Duendes, the Association of Antique Cars of Concordia, the local comparsas Ráfaga, Imperio and Bella Samba and a delegation from the city of Concepción del Uruguay with the comparsas Aimara, Unidos Do Bahía, Mascarada and Urugua-i.
In addition, the event will be accompanied by a gastronomic proposal by Cristóbal Café and Bar Ideal, adding flavors and services so that residents and visitors can fully enjoy the day.
From the organization, we especially thank the support and contributions made by Cristóbal Café, Bar Ideal and the Cooperativa Eléctrica de Concordia and the CTM Salto Grande Delegación Argentina, whose commitment was fundamental to carry out this community proposal.
In this regard, the Undersecretary of Education and Culture, Prof. Carlos Gatto, highlighted that “this event is the result of joint work between the municipal State, institutions, artists, gastronomic entrepreneurs, and the community. Carnival is a cultural expression that identifies and unites us, and bringing it to the square is a way of bringing it closer to everyone”.
Likewise, Gatto remarked that “each comparsa has the opportunity to share its work in this 2026 edition and promote exchange with other towns in the region”.
“Carnival, Culture and Community” is an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Concordia that reaffirms the commitment to continue generating open, inclusive, and participatory spaces, where culture is a tool for meeting, growth, and development.
The activity has free admission and will take place at Plaza 25 de Mayo, starting at 8:30 PM, with a musical closing by the band La Don César.
