Within the framework of the Infrastructure Plan carried out by the Municipality of Concordia, repaving works have begun on Juventud Unida Street, in Benito Legerén. The investment, executed with own funds, exceeds 160 million pesos.
More than 3,000 m2 will be intervened in the sector between Avenida de Los Trabajadores and Avenida José Ignacio Rucci. The complete reconstruction of the structural package will be carried out, including the milling of the existing asphalt layer, a cement-soil base, as well as the construction and reconstruction of gutters and sections of curb and gutter.
“It is a long-awaited work by the residents,” remarked Mayor Francisco Azcué, who was touring the works, accompanied by Engineer Carla Pagano, the Municipality's work inspector.
Azcué maintained that “just like what was done on Paula Albarracín Street, the financing of this repaving is 100% with municipal resources in a plan that also includes Dr. Sauré Street, for which the tender will be released in a few days. There are sectors in the city that have presented an infrastructure deficit for many years, but with responsibility when managing resources and the community's commitment to fulfill their contributions, we can move forward.”
For her part, Pagano explained that in this first stage of the work, “since the street was very deteriorated, all the existing pavement had to be removed and the base is being prepared to lay the new asphalt.”
