For some time now, the Municipal Sports Directorate has been hosting meetings of the Organizing Committee for the San Antonio de Padua Award, with various innovations promoted by the administration of mayor Enrique Cresto, enhancing and elevating the most important award for sports in Concordia. The date for this new edition has already been set; it will be Friday, December 20, at the Centro de Convenciones Concordia.
For this edition, several innovations are proposed regarding the nomination of the athletes who will receive their award, which will be informed in meetings to be held at the offices of the Sports Directorate, San Juan 841, starting next Tuesday, November 5.
One of the most important aspects is the fact that nominations will be made digitally through the website of the Municipality of Concordia, www.concordia.gob.ar and for this purpose, through the IT Directorate, a space has been created where the data of the athletes who will receive their awards will be entered, and in the convened meetings, the procedures to complete each of the requested data will be announced.
That is why the participation of institutions in the meetings is of fundamental importance to learn the details that must be fulfilled to nominate the athletes.
Another innovation that can be appreciated is the enabling of the Digital Museum of the San Antonio de Padua Award, where different moments in the history of the events held since December 28, 1988, will be reflected.
Although the Sports Directorate will call the various institutions, participation is open to those entities that believe they have the right to intervene in the nominations.
The disciplines cited in each meeting are detailed below.
Tuesday, November 5 – 8:30 PM: Motorsports, Karting, Motorcycling, Judo, Artistic Skating, Horse Racing, Aikido, Triathlon, and Duathlon.
Thursday, November 7 – 8:30 PM: Swimming, Rugby, Hockey, Athletics, Shooting, Mountain Bike, Cycling, Equestrianism, Karate, Canoeing, Rowing, and Basketball.
Tuesday, November 12 – 8:30 PM: Gymnastics, Soccer, Volleyball, Bocce, Padel, Golf, Archery, and Boxing.
Thursday, November 14 – 8:30 PM: Tchoukball, Handball, Taekwondo, Mixed Martial Arts, Basque Pelota, Fishing, Chess, Roller Hockey, Tennis, and Speed Skating.
For inquiries, interested parties may go in person to San Juan 841 on business days between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM, or communicate during the same hours by phone at 421 7083.-
Let us remember that the San Antonio de Padua Award is presented in those disciplines that have participation in the federative level. In each of them, there are three categories, two of which are nominated by the Governing Bodies or, in their absence, by the institutions that practice them, and that is the case of the “Specialty” and “Merit in the Specialty” Awards. The athletes who are awarded these must be between 11 and 22 years of age completed within the current year, with exceptions due to the particularities of the practice of some disciplines, such as Motorsports, Polo, Yachting, Horse Racing, Windsurfing, and Karting.
The third category in each discipline is nominated by the Sports Journalism in a meeting convened by the Sports Directorate, which will be held next Monday, December 9.
All these particularities are those provided for by Ordinance 24.454 and Regulatory Decrees No. 24.457, 27.530, and 31.318.
