Concordia closed the long Carnival weekend with high occupancy, driven by an agenda of events that attracted tourists and residents. The combination of natural attractions and cultural, sports, and recreational proposals consolidates it as one of the most chosen destinations in the Salto Grande region.
According to data provided by the Tourism Observatory of the Undersecretariat of Tourism of the Municipality of Concordia, through surveys conducted via QR codes and in-person pollsters, during the long weekend Concordia reached a hotel occupancy of 90%, with an average stay of 2.72 nights and an approximate expenditure of $66,629 per visitor. The information reflects the growing interest in enjoying the National Capital of Citrus.
HIGHLIGHTED ATTRACTIONS
The guided tour of the Castillo San Carlos, with more than 300 visitors, was one of the main historical and cultural attractions chosen during the long weekend. Also, very close to it, the “natural historical circuit in Naranjal de Pereda,” a space in the process of revitalization, attracted residents, tourists from the Province of Buenos Aires, the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Rosario, Santa Fe, and various towns in Entre Ríos, among others. An emerging attraction that offers a unique experience in the middle of nature.
The 32nd National Boga Fishing Festival brought together more than 330 participants in competition, among which around 92 boats (with an average of three people per boat) and 62 kayaks stood out. This event attracted visitors from Entre Ríos cities such as Paraná, Chajarí, Oro Verde, and Villaguay, as well as from different Argentine provinces: Buenos Aires, Formosa, and Santa Fe, in addition to international tourists from Paysandú and Salto (Oriental Republic of Uruguay).
A tourist milestone: Concordia was the only city in Argentina and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay that, on both Saturday, March 1st, and Monday, March 3rd, developed a “Binational and Bimodal Tourist Circuit.” The proposal began with the boat Don Demetrio, departing from Salto to the Port of Concordia, and continued on the local Tourist Bus with a city tour, recording the participation of 90 tourists, mainly from Salto and Montevideo (R.O.U.). The travel groups had an average of 3.56 people; 78% of the visitors learned about the activity through Instagram, 22% through recommendations from third parties, while 100% of those surveyed claimed to have used this service for the first time and to have chosen to come to Concordia because of the development of the binational proposal, highlighting the quality of the tours and the attention provided during the circuit. It should be noted that the tour ended at the CIT (Tourist Information Center), where visitors inquired about the different tourist proposals of the city, mainly about the gastronomic options in the center, to return to Salto after lunch.
More than 80 people participated in the three scheduled departures of the traditional "Tierra Mágica de El Principito" Tourist Bus, which includes the tour of the Costanera, the city center, and the guided visit to the Castillo San Carlos. The audience was 58% residents; 10% from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, 5% each from Córdoba, Santa Fe, and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, and 17% from the Province of Buenos Aires.
The Carnival Passistas and Batucadas Show, at Casa de Piedra on the Costanera of Concordia, was another moment of great turnout, which offered an explosion of energy, rhythm, and joy, capturing the essence of the “Most Passionate Carnival in the Country.”
The Popular Carnival brought together more than 1,000 people, including participants and the public, who enjoyed the music, dances, and colors that invaded the streets of Concordia, being one of the main events of the local festive agenda for the long weekend.
With this long Carnival weekend, the 2025 Summer Season cycle: 'I Enjoy Concordia' closed its edition. This initiative, promoted by the Undersecretariat of Tourism and EMCONTUR (Concordia Mixed Tourism Entity), allowed tourists and residents to discover the natural, cultural, and historical attractions that consolidate Concordia as a key destination in the Salto Grande region.
