With a vision focused on the modernization of the State and the improvement of the citizen experience, the Municipality of Concordia is driving a profound transformation of the commercial licensing process, with a focus on transparency, efficiency, and the promotion of local economic development.
Mayor Francisco Azcué led a working meeting with representatives from various municipal areas involved in the management of commercial licenses. The main objective of the meeting was to outline a new regulatory framework that simplifies and modernizes current procedures, establishing clear and differentiated criteria according to the type of commercial activity, promoting a more flexible and modern regulation adapted to the current needs of the private sector.
“We want opening a business in Concordia to be increasingly simple, agile, and transparent,” noted the Mayor. Along these lines, the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination and Treasury, Pablo Ferreyra, remarked that digitalization will be a central tool in this process, as it not only offers concrete ease for the private sector but also represents an important management control tool for us as a government team: “In the same way that we developed and implemented GESCOM, which meant an unprecedented advance in the municipality's transparency and efficiency standards, we are now applying that same logic to the licensing system, eliminating the need for the taxpayer to be present, providing greater security and predictability for their requirements with faster and clearer responses.”
The project provides for the comprehensive digitalization of procedures for registrations, cancellations, and modifications of commercial licenses, allowing each citizen to know in detail the specific requirements for their activity, submit applications online, and track the status of their administrative case file in real time. In addition, access to the reasons for rejection in case of observations will be guaranteed, strengthening the transparency of the procedure and reducing margins of discretion.
This step is part of a comprehensive digital transformation plan for the local public administration, which seeks to optimize internal processes, reduce administrative times, and provide a more efficient and accessible service to the resident. The goal is to consolidate an agile, open, and facilitating municipal State that supports those who choose to invest and generate employment in the city.
