With the presence of Mayor Francisco Azcué, the commemorative ceremony for the 239th anniversary of the birth of General Francisco Ramírez was held this Thursday morning.
When remembering the figure of the leader from Entre Ríos, Azcué highlighted that we are going through a moment in history “where we must vindicate our heroes, not only by paying tribute but also by catching that patriotic spirit that our country needs”.
For this reason, he urged those present to “continue honoring the life and work of Francisco Ramírez, trying to imitate it. Those of us who are at the head of government institutions must keep his legacy in mind: a person who was constantly by his people's side and who died fighting for a noble cause”.
Marcelo Cortiana, member of the “Francisco Ramírez” Scout Group, reviewed the life of Ramírez, stressing that “to understand his figure it is necessary to specify the concept of a leader and his actions in the time he had to live”, highlighting the different facets he had as a military man, politician, and promoter of the educational system in the populations of that time.
Participating in the ceremony were the Secretary of Government Luciano Dell´Olio; the Undersecretary of Education and Culture Carlos Gatto; the Undersecretary of Sports Ivana Pérez; the Undersecretary of Communication and Press Magdalena Molteni; the president of the Ramiriano Institute of Concordia, Horacio Lalanda; Malvinas Veterans; representatives of the Armed Forces and Security Forces; Patriotic and Cultural Institutions; the Primary School No. 44 Mariano Moreno; and residents of Concordia.
