100 percent hotel occupancy
Throughout the long weekend, tourist activity in the city was evident. Families, couples, and young people resting in the thermal areas, strolling along the Costanera, San Carlos, the pedestrian street, and the squares. Many people posing for a souvenir photo on any corner, hotels working at full capacity, and thousands of people enjoying the Carnival at the Municipal Corsódromo in Estación Norte. Afternoons of fishing, drinking mate, strolling by the Salto Grande lake, or walking along the banks of the Uruguay River and forgetting the noise of big cities. The balance of the weekend is very positive for Concordia, a city that is consolidating itself as a tourist product in the main travel and excursion circuits.
In this regard, the Secretary of Government and Tourism and President of the Mixed Entity of Tourism of Concordia, Alfredo Francolini, highlighted the teamwork and strategic planning promoted by Mayor Enrique Cresto as the foundations for strengthening tourism development in the region.
“In this administration, there is a clear vision of a great city, a plan projected for the next 20 or 30 years, which among its main components considers tourism as a true engine of sustainable development. That is why Mayor Cresto always encourages us to strengthen the joint work we carry out with the private sector and all actors linked to tourism, with the understanding that these good results arrive because behind them there is a strong joint articulation and clear objectives,” the official argued.
Where Carnival lives
Concordia is a city where all expressions of Carnival are experienced with emotion. The Concordia Carnival at the Municipal Corsódromo, with the comparsas that fill every weekend with rhythm, passion, and joy. The Carnival of the Little Elves (Carnaval de los Pequeños Duendes), which highlights the work, solidarity, and camaraderie of the children's comparsas from each of the neighborhoods of our city. And the Popular Carnival of Joy, with the murgas, groups, costumes, games, and the colorfulness of the carnival traveling through the streets.
But in addition, the cultural and tourist offer of the city was completed with acoustic performances in San Carlos and the Costanera, theater plays, proposals specially designed for tourists in gastronomic and nightlife venues, artisans, food courts, and multiple options to enjoy as a family.
