With the presence of Mayor Francisco Azcué, members of the War Veterans Center, municipal authorities, national and provincial legislators, council members, representatives of the Armed Forces and Security Forces, and the public present, the ceremony for the 43rd anniversary of the Malvinas War was held at the Costanera of our city.
The evening began with performances by the artistic acts Trío Trinchera, composed of Natalia Rueda, Lalo Álvarez, and Franco Pezzelatto; followed by the Municipal Folk Ballet Renovando Sueños, under the coordination and artistic direction of professor Sergio Lugo; Daniel Esteche and his Ensemble, and the Folk Ballet Alas de Mi Patria, under the direction of Oyarbide and Bogado, with "Tribute to Them with Our Own," a performance that exalted our roots and the identity that unites us as a people.
LANDING
One of the most emotional moments was the simulation of the Landing on the Islands and the subsequent raising of the Argentine Flag by the Malvinas war veterans, actions that were followed by and sparked great recognition from the public present.
UNRENUNCIABLE CLAIM OF SOVEREIGNTY
"With honor and paying tribute, we gather tonight to express our unrenounceable claim and struggle for the sovereignty of our Malvinas. The Islands belong to us and are Argentine territory; it is the legacy our heroes have left us and a duty we must uphold as Argentines," stated Mayor Azcué.
"The Malvinas cause is not only the past, it is the present and the future, and the lesson left to us by those who went to fight has to do with the love for our Homeland, and that is an example we need today as a society," remarked Azcué, adding that "today more than ever we must feel it but also be willing to give everything, being conscious of what our heroes did."
"CONCORDIA RECEIVED US WITH OPEN ARMS"
The president of the Malvinas War Veterans Center, Oscar Razzeto, thanked "the society of Concordia that received us with open arms when we returned from Malvinas, and they brought us in through the back door, but you received us through the front door."
"Malvinas is brotherhood among war veterans, represented by the different Forces that participated in the armed conflict in fulfillment of defending our national flag even unto death, with a heartfelt tribute to the living milestones who remained waiting for our return, after having given everything, without forgetting those of us who had the grace of God to return."
The ceremony also featured words from Karen Colombo, daughter of a veteran, who as a member of the "Children and Relatives of Malvinas" group, highlighted that "this date is not only a reminder of an armed conflict but of the struggle, pain, and hope of a people that will always remember the sacrifice of their children."
The tribute to our heroes concluded with the military parade, led by the members of the War Veterans Center, to the chords of the 6th Tank Cavalry Regiment "Blandengues" Band.
