In the framework of the meeting of Peronist Mayors of the Argentine Federation of Municipalities (FAM), held this weekend in San Luis, the mayor Enrique Cresto met with the governor of San Luis, Alberto Rodríguez Saa, and ministers of his cabinet. The objective: to learn in depth about the successful public works management model of that province in order to replicate it in Concordia. The meeting was organized by provincial deputy Alejandro Bahler.
“Our decision is to promote the execution of works with a positive impact in our city. The works must solve problems; they should never be a problem for the residents or for the public administration. We must execute works while taking care of resources and through transparent and efficient processes. We know we can do it, and that is why we work, learn, prepare ourselves, and seek to transfer to Concordia the work methods that yield good results in other places,” said Cresto.
Provincial deputy Alejandro Bahler, who made the arrangements for this meeting between the governor of San Luis and the mayor of Concordia to take place, described the meeting between both leaders as "very positive." "San Luis is the model province regarding public works projects and modernization, with the smart highway, the LED lighting system, and the execution deadlines," the legislator pointed out. "What must be analyzed are the strictly economic issues, how the system works, how it is employed, and what the plans and deadlines for the works are," he maintained, giving as an example that "in San Luis, no work lasts more than 12 months," therefore "there are no increased costs due to inflation-related discrepancies."
That and other characteristic aspects of the implementation model of public works in the province of San Luis are the management foundations that the mayor Enrique Cresto will promote in the city, he assured. "We have created the Public Works Monitoring Council, with the participation of opposition parties and professional associations; now we are taking another step. We seek not only to take maximum care of the taxpayers' contributions but also for each action carried out to signify solid steps of transformation for the city," highlighted the municipal president.
