The activity, which was also held in commemoration of the institution's anniversary month, took place at the “Los Ángeles” square located at Gobernador Cresto and Pasaje de los Niños.
“A few days ago, World White Cane Day was commemorated, and October 25th is the anniversary of the Association of Blind People of Concordia. This year we are celebrating 36 years, and we thought it was a very good idea to carry out activities in this month of integration and share with all the children who are here, who are from the “Jesús Nazareno” school, who are accompanying us, so we are happy with the participation of all the workshop leaders and the residents,” pointed out Esther Bergalio, representative of the institution.
For his part, Ángel Gómez, a member of the Disability Council, indicated that “this type of activity strengthens joint work with institutions,” adding that “we are very happy because people support this institution that has so many years and is always very open to the community,” he highlighted.
Sonia Albornos, municipal coordinator of Neighborhood Workshops, an area that participated in the event, expressed that “we developed a proposal together with different municipal areas to respond to the call from Marcelo Primitivo, director of Disability, so we are sharing with all the attendees the workshops we have at ACICON, both bakery and other diverse activities,” she commented, which is exactly what the children are doing.”
Finally, Marcelo Primitivo explained that “we are developing a recreational, sports, and outdoor activity in this square in the El Triángulo neighborhood. We are gathered not only to commemorate a new anniversary of such an important institution but also the Month of Awareness and Inclusion, as we are doing with an agenda of activities in which so many public and private institutions participate, and also celebrating sharing, as we always say, all the public policies implemented by this administration of mayor Enrique Cres, to move forward in diversity and with diversity,” he concluded.
