Given the low water level of the Uruguay River and forecasts indicating this trend will continue, the Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS) carried out various maintenance tasks at the Water Treatment Plant, with the aim of optimizing the performance of the intake system in order to minimize any potential impact on the service.
During this Friday, EDOS personnel, together with divers from the Entre Ríos Police, carried out various cleaning and maintenance tasks at the Water Intake Towers of the Water Treatment Plant, located in San Carlos. A large amount of branches and sediment was removed from the entrance of the Towers, and a new submersible electric pump was installed in the adduction channel to Towers 1 and 2, the agency reported.
Given the heat wave affecting the city, which leads to higher water consumption, and the pronounced and sustained drop in the levels of the Uruguay River, which hinder the normal operation of the intake system, residents are advised to make rational use of the resource, avoiding waste.
At the same time, EDOS continues to carry out checks for leaks in the network, as well as inspection operations to detect clandestine connections that hinder the normal operation of the network, applying the corresponding sanctions.
