The Deliberative Council of Concordia held its twenty-fifth ordinary session, presided over by the Vice Mayor, Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza. The session, with an agenda of 23 administrative case files, was highlighted by the approval of a key ordinance that benefits local taxpayers. It is a project that applies a significant reduction in interest for those who regularize their debts in municipal taxes.
Relief for the Resident: Payment Plan with zero interest
The initiative, promoted by the Executive Department and approved unanimously, seeks to alleviate the financial burden on citizens with debts in the General Real Estate Municipal Tax (TGI), the Sanitary Services municipal tax and fines from the Municipal Court of Appeals.
As the Vice Mayor explained, residents will have two options to regularize their situation:
This measure has as its main objective that taxpayers get up to date to avoid the late payment surcharges that will be applied next year, which will represent significant savings in their future payments, highlighted Reta de Urquiza.
Request for Report and Debate on Transparency
During the session, the Council also unanimously approved a request for a report from the bloc Más para Entre Ríos (PJ) related to a specific procurement process. The request focuses on the administrative actions of the firms Ahora Voy S.R.L. and Partarrié Distribuciones S.A.S., both excluded from the list of municipal suppliers, approved unanimously in a previous session.
Although there was a broad debate on the subject, the unanimous approval reflected the position that there is "nothing to hide." However, the Vice Mayor pointed out a discrepancy in the deadlines requested by the opposition (72 hours), since the Municipalities Law grants the Executive 60 business days to respond. she commented, ensuring that the response will be delivered "in due time and form" by the Executive.
On the other hand, the presentation of the municipal audit report to the judiciary generated a tense exchange. While councilors from the ruling party defended the action as an act of institutional transparency, opposition councilors labeled it as having an "electoral tint," arguing that the provincial Court of Accounts had not observed anomalies in the audited fiscal years.
Reta de Urquiza defended the Mayor's decision to formalize the delivery of the audit report. "Although the report is available, and any prosecutor could have taken it for their investigation, we had no news that they had done so," explained Reta de Urquiza. Therefore, the formal presentation was made to "urge the judiciary to issue a ruling" on whether or not there were illicit acts in the previous administration.
And she stressed that the measure was taken due to the urgency of having the facts investigated. "The formal presentation was made in the court because what is at stake is time. It is urgent that the report be analyzed and that the judiciary acts," she concluded.
Projects and Commemorations
The session also included the approval of other projects of interest:
Finally, tributes were paid to Commerce Employee Day and to National Women's Political Rights Day, highlighting the importance of these dates and their impact on the citizenry.
