As part of the agenda of meetings being held with entities representing different economic sectors of the city to strengthen joint work, the municipal Executive received representatives of the Concordia Self-Service and Supermarket Center (CASCO) this Tuesday.
During the meeting, the current situation of the sector was addressed and some specific needs were raised. In addition, progress was highlighted regarding the reduction of indirect tax pressure, through the debureaucratization and modernization of the municipal administration and the streamlining of procedures, as well as the continuity of the policies implemented since last year to alleviate the tax burden on the commercial sector. Among these measures, the cap on the public lighting municipal tax and the elimination of more than 300 municipal taxes and stamp duties were highlighted.
“We want these meetings to be increasingly frequent to work together with the private sector. Our goal is for Concordia to be the best place to invest. We are always open to dialogue, to listening, and to finding solutions that boost the sector's growth,” expressed Mayor Francisco Azcué.
For his part, the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination, Pablo Ferreyra, highlighted the effort the municipality has been making to continue the policies of support for SMEs and businesses: “In the economic context we have to manage, fiscal prudence is paramount; however, understanding the difficulties faced by many Concordia merchants, we have implemented fiscal relief measures since the beginning of the administration and we will continue on that path, responsibly, and without compromising the stability of the municipality's finances.”
In the same vein, the Director of Revenue, Fernando Marsicano, highlighted the actions implemented to combat informality. “After work addressed in a comprehensive manner and with the application of new technologies, we are initiating the inspection of more than 2,000 businesses that were not registered, with the purpose of continuing to expand the tax base and achieve greater fiscal equity,” he explained.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Francisco Azcué, the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination Pablo Ferreyra, the Secretary of Government Luciano Dell’Olio, and the Director of Revenue Fernando Marsicano. On behalf of the Center, its president, Laura Kobrinsky, Walter Kleiman, and members of the Board of Directors were present.
At the meeting, both parties agreed to continue working along the same lines and to form an agenda of priority issues to be developed in future meetings. Likewise, the municipal Executive is evaluating new fiscal relief measures for this year, within a framework of strong budgetary restriction.
