Accompanied by Mayor Azcué, the Chief of the Entre Ríos Police, and authorities from the Concordia Departmental Police, he stated that in our city, so far in 2025, more than a thousand raids have already been carried out. “Security is a priority because we want to live in peace. We are one team,” remarked Azcué.
The Minister of Security and Justice of the Province, Néstor Roncaglia, together with Mayor Francisco Azcué, the Chief of the Entre Ríos Police, Claudio González, and the head of the Concordia Departmental Police, Commissioner José María Rosatelli, led the “Safe Neighborhood” operation this Thursday afternoon.
They were also at one of the city's entrances where the installation of license plate readers, recently received by the Municipality of Concordia from the National Ministry of Security, is planned, and they visited the warehouse that, after being recovered in the fight against drug trafficking, will begin to function as a repair shop for the institution's vehicles, reinforcing security in the Sapito neighborhood.
“We are all working together for the good of the citizenry, bringing tranquility and well-being to the community. This operation joins others that we have already started in other parts of the province, such as Safe Field and Safe Squares, standing by our people,” affirmed Roncaglia.
A THOUSAND RAIDS
In that sense, the Minister remarked that “the Concordia Departmental Police has been doing a fabulous job, carrying out a thousand raids with around 700 arrests in these almost four months of 2025, breaking all statistics from previous years.”
This is the result of and part of a joint effort “with the mayors and in this case, accompanying and visiting a warehouse that was previously a drug bunker and today becomes a space for the Police, where a workshop will operate to repair our vehicles, which is added to a detachment, bringing more security to a sector of the city that was complicated.”
In the aforementioned property, the Municipality of Concordia is collaborating with the improvements and preparation of the site.
“SECURITY IS A PRIORITY”
Mayor Azcué, for his part, maintained that “the instruction from Governor Frigerio is to work in an articulated manner and in this case with the Ministry of Security and Justice, something we have been developing since the first day. Security is a priority because we want an orderly city and to live in peace.”
Beyond jurisdictions, “this is achieved if it is done jointly. We respect jurisdictions but we do not shy away from the problem because when there is a crime in Concordia, a resident of Concordia suffers. We are one team to have a safer city and today the statistics show the completion of 1000 raids in these months of the year and we must continue on this path.”
Finally, Azcué indicated that part of the activity took place at one of the entrances to Concordia where security cameras and license plate readers, which were received by the Municipality from the National Ministry of Security, will soon be installed. “We are going to work on it together with the Entre Ríos Police,” he stressed.
BRINGING TRANQUILITY
Regarding the “Safe Neighborhood” operation, the Chief of the Entre Ríos Police, Claudio González, explained that it is being carried out in different cities of the province with the objective “of winning back public space and bringing tranquility to the people of Entre Ríos.”
The Chief of the Departmental Police, Commissioner Rosatelli, thanked the constant support they receive from the Municipality “through its different areas, which allows us to reach all neighborhoods, and today in particular, from our superiors, which is important to have their support, not only for those of us who lead but also for the personnel who work day by day, making a great effort.”
Accompanying them were the Secretary of Government Luciano Dell´Olio, the Undersecretary of Citizen Security Claudio Purgart, and the Deputy Chief of the Departmental Police, Inspector Commissioner Liliana Miño.
