The initiative is part of a joint epidemiological surveillance strategy at the Mercosur level, to achieve “healthy and safe borders”. The population of Concordia, of all ages, will be able to attend to get vaccinated for free and complete the applications of the calendar.
In recent days, health authorities of the Municipality of Concordia had anticipated the realization, by initiative of the mayor Enrique Cresto, of actions linked to promoting vaccination and raising awareness about the importance of complying with the national calendar, which is mandatory and proposes the application of vaccines at all stages of life.
In this framework and based on the involvement of Concordia as a border city in a strategy at the Mercosur level, vaccination days will be developed to recover coverage and delayed schedules. The population is therefore called upon to approach and complete the missing applications.
Schedule
MONDAY 10/2 - Community Integration Center “Los Pájaros”
(Las Calandrias and Los Ruiseñores)
WEDNESDAY 10/4 - Inclusion and Opportunity Development Nucleus (NIDO)
(Carretera La Cruz neighborhood)
FRIDAY 10/6 - Community Integration Center “Néstor Kirchner”
(former Víctor Oppel premises, Sarmiento neighborhood)
From the municipal Nursing coordination, it was specified that each day will extend from 9:00 to 15:00 and will work jointly with the institutions that are in the programmatic area of each provider.
Regional strategy
These days derive from a cooperation project between countries for health development, led by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and in which authorities and technical teams from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay participate.
Among the objectives pursued by this articulation, epidemiological surveillance, immunizations and preparation for future emergencies stand out. Based on this, vaccination is positioned as a key strategy to build safer and healthier borders.
Concordia joins this international initiative that is in tune with the municipal policy of working strongly on the promotion and universal access to health, prioritizing prevention and primary care.
In this way, the awareness task in the neighborhoods will be intensified, seeking to ensure that the population can easily access adequate information and comply with the application of vaccines.
Vaccination for life
One of the main problems observed is that many people, of different age groups, apply the first dose of a vaccine and do not return to complete the schedule of second doses or boosters. Likewise, many children and adolescents do not access vaccination due to the lack of knowledge of their father or mother.
Faced with this reality, the Health Secretariat of Concordia calls, beyond these specific days, to approach the nearest health center and consult without problems, at any time of the year.
It should be remembered that the city has two public hospitals and twenty health centers, which the population can attend in the time slot from 7:00 to 19:00 and request the application of vaccines for free, or make inquiries about the calendar and the doses that correspond to each stage of life. It is essential to have the vaccination card at hand.
