With a large turnout, the special exhibition “60 years, sixty works” was inaugurated at the Museum of Visual Arts (MAV), which reports to the Undersecretariat of Culture of the Municipality of Concordia.
Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the value of the MAV as a space that not only safeguards works, but also promotes the production and dissemination of art in the city. “This museum is a reflection of the talent and creativity of our people. It is not just a venue where history is preserved, but a place that challenges us, mobilizes us, and projects us into the future,” he expressed.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Culture, Carlos Gatto, remarked on the importance of strengthening these spaces as pillars of a cultural policy that seeks to consolidate Concordia as a hub of artistic production. “We are not here only to commemorate the past, but to reaffirm our commitment to the future of art in our city. Museums are not repositories of history; they are living organisms that beat to the rhythm of their community,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Director of the MAV, Hugo Musser, provided details about the exhibition and its historical value. “Each of these sixty works represents a key moment in our history. There are pieces from the museum's first collection and works awarded throughout the fifteen years of the Bicentennial Salon. This exhibition is a testament to what we have built and what we will continue to build together,” he noted.
