The Municipality of Concordia, through the Decentralized Entity of Sanitary Works (EDOS), reminds that this Saturday, October 31, a scheduled shutdown of the water treatment plant will take place due to works related to the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial (PID).
The works, which will begin in the early hours at different points of Belgrano street, include the renovation and adaptation of the drinking water network, as well as the installation of new sluice valves, the incorporation of which will allow for improved sectorization conditions of the network and enable, in the event of future interventions, the isolation of specific sectors, reducing the impact on the distribution system.
Furthermore, the replacement of asbestos-cement piping is contemplated, so the prior placement of the new valves is necessary to be able to subsequently execute said renovation, allowing the work section to be isolated and minimizing the impact on other sectors of the network.
The need to carry out a temporary interruption of the service is due to the fact that maintenance or replacement works that would have currently allowed the interventions to be carried out by sectors, without affecting the operation of the water treatment plant, were not performed for years.
The scheduled outage will last for the period strictly necessary to perform the maneuvers, execute the works, and restore the normal operating conditions of the system, so the population is requested to take the necessary precautions, thanking them for their understanding regarding an intervention necessary to advance with the renovation and improvement of the city's drinking water infrastructure.
