Organized by the Undersecretariat of Development and Entrepreneurship of the Municipality of Concordia, the Sign Language training for entrepreneurs was held. The initiative included the participation of merchants, entrepreneurs, and community members interested in making their businesses more accessible and inclusive.
The event was led by the Coordinator of the Undersecretariat of Development and Entrepreneurship, Andrea Popelka; the Director of Disability, Maximiliano Navarro Jaurena; and the Head of the Social Economy Department, Miguel Parra, who highlighted the importance of inclusion in the commercial sphere.
Andrea Popelka stated: “Sign Language training not only allows for improved customer service, but also expands commercial opportunities and fosters a more equitable environment for everyone. From the Undersecretariat, we will continue to promote these initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurial development with an inclusive perspective.”
For his part, Maximiliano Navarro Jaurena highlighted: “It is essential that merchants and entrepreneurs incorporate tools that facilitate communication with the deaf community. This not only guarantees a better customer experience, but also promotes a more accessible society.”
Meanwhile, Miguel Parra underscored the importance of the event for the local entrepreneurial ecosystem: “From the Social Economy Department, we support these trainings because we understand that accessibility is key to the growth and sustainability of businesses.”
The attendees actively participated in the session, learning about the grammar and basic vocabulary of Sign Language, communication strategies in commercial environments, and methods to overcome linguistic barriers.
The training marks a significant step towards a more inclusive and accessible Concordia for all people, reaffirming the municipality's commitment to equity and integration.
Those who wish to learn more about upcoming trainings can go to the 2nd floor of the Civic Center of Concordia (Mitre and Pellegrini) from Monday to Friday during regular business hours. You can also follow us on our social media @concordia.produccion to stay informed about new initiatives.
