Within the framework of the Annual Meeting of the Education Community of the Local Innovation Network (RIL) and the Varkey Foundation, the Directorate of Social Strengthening Policies, under the Secretariat of Health, presented the policies and programs that the Municipality implements to promote emotional well-being, strengthen school coexistence, and prevent issues related to the mental health of adolescents and young people.
In this sense, the various programs that the area has to address and provide comprehensive responses to different social issues were also mentioned.
Anabel Vergara, Director of Social Strengthening Policies, highlighted the holding of these types of meetings where officials and governments from different cities in the provinces of Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay participated, “because it allows us to share management experiences and strengthen intervention strategies from a professional and institutional perspective.”
Regarding young people, Vergara pointed out that through joint work with the Departmental Directorate of Schools, “we carry out workshops through the Municipal Program for Integral Health and Healthy Bonds, with topics such as bullying, grooming, and problematic consumption, while providing tools to act in situations that affect school coexistence and the integral development of young people.”
MORE PROGRAMS
“We have also expanded and implemented programs aimed at addressing different issues with the participation of professionals, who in some cases, have been in the area for many years,” highlighted Vergara.
Currently, the programs being worked on are the following: Mental Health Prevention Program; Family and Gender Violence Program; Municipal Device for Addressing Addictive Behaviors and Problematic Consumption; Childhood and Adolescence Program; and the Clinical Psychology and Psychopedagogical Support Program.
“These are all tools that the Municipality makes available to the community. The sooner we act, the faster these issues can be addressed and responses sought through joint actions with other areas or institutions,” remarked Vergara.
